After more than a decade of outfitting the Bay Area’s best-dressed women—and scooping up accolades and press clippings along the way—Sherri McMullen is bringing a second outpost of her beloved boutique to the peninsula.

McMullen, the store, has been drawing crowds to Oakland (2257 Broadway) since 2007. The shop specializes in luxury womenswear, accessories, and home decor, and it’s famous for featuring emerging and established designers from around the world. The shop is committed to supporting African and African-American apparel and home décor designers who have limited resources, and is often the first store to carry African designers who later land in the pages of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. In addition to the under-the-radar labels the store frequently champions, customers also turn to McMullen for a well-edited selection of pieces from better-known brands like Ganni, Jacquemus, Kamperett, Proenza Schouler, Rejina Pyo, Tibi, Ulla Johnson.

Starting this weekend, McMullen fans in the South Bay will be able to get their fashion fix at the newest McMullen location in Palo Alto’s Town and Country Village, (855 El Camino Real #36). “We've been seeing a growing clientele from the Silicon Valley… Our Palo Alto boutique will enable us to better serve clients throughout the Bay Area, and gives us more space to elevate the top, current fashion as well as emerging designers before they achieve the national spotlight.” said McMullen, (the person, not the store).

The new location is set to open on Saturday, September 14.
