Take a Look Around No. 3's New Home in Russian Hill

It’s been six years since Jenny Chung Seeger opened her original itty-bitty jewelry boutique, No. 3, on Hyde Street, and now No. 3 has moved to its Number 2 location: a gorgeous space on Polk in Russian Hill.

“Our philosophy is that jewelry shopping should be fun, relaxed, unpretentious and educational,” said Chung Seeger.  “We wanted to create an environment that feels fresh, and encourages discovery and interaction.”

Inside, the new No. 3 features older architectural details like exposed columns, an Edwardian mantle, and raw concrete floors, next to modern additions like curved walls and floating shelves. The main jewelry case is made from Italian glass brick and topped with bleached mahogany drawers by woodworker Nobuto Suga.

Lauren Geremia, the designer behind the new boutique, said the goal was to showcase the jewelry while echoing the brand’s casual elegance and eclectic modern vibe. “No.3 is a literal jewel box and we wanted to make all the surfaces feel special and important but not overly precious.”

Much like the original space, the new shop offers a curated selection of fine jewelry from designers like Anna Sheffield, Bliss Lau, and Jennie Kwon, along with estate jewelry. “We look for wearable pieces that are at once modern and classic – timeless treasures to be worn and loved every day,” Chung Seeger said. Later this year, No. 3 will be launching an in-house collection of customizable, alternative engagement rings and non-traditional bridal styles.

Want to see No. 3 in person? The store, located at 2354 Polk Street, is open from 12-7 Monday through Saturday, and 12-5 on Sunday.
