Vuori Joins the Union Street Athletic Wear Gang

If you’re a performance apparel brand, and you want to make a splash in San Francisco, there’s a decent chance you’re setting up shop on Union Street in Cow Hollow. It’s a formula that’s worked for Lululemon, Sweaty Betty, Lorna Jane, and The North Face. Now, Vuori is entering the neighborhood activewear scrum.

Launched in 2015, Vuori differs from its athleisure competition on Union Street because it’s a men’s first brand—and we don’t mean that in a #himtoo way. While most of the premium activewear companies that popped up over the last 20 years got their start in making bum-sculpting yoga bottoms for ladies, Vuori was born as a men’s performance apparel brand. It has since added a limited women’s range.

Vuori's expansion to San Francisco follows success at the company’s locations in Encinitas and Manhattan Beach. Joe Kudla, Vuori's founder and CEO, chose San Francisco for a third location because he recognized a synergy between the company’s products and residents of the Bay Area. "San Francisco has long remained at the cutting edge of technology, business, culture, and wellness," said Kudla. "Those who live in the area lead active, health-conscious lifestyles where they're physically moving during the most important parts of their day.”

The Cow Hollow store is located directly across Union Street from Equinox and SoulCycle at 2070 Union Street. The 1,000-square-foot space offers Vuori's men's performance gear collection—including shorts, boardshorts, pants, tops, graphic tees, hoodies, jackets, and accessories—along with a selection of women's apparel.
